Jeepers keepers, this is for Real

Real Madrid keeper Iker Casillas is the unlikely name to be linked with a move to The Arsenal. The Spanish shot stopper who is in the last year of his Real Madrid contract hasn't been offered a new deal as yet and can talk to any interested clubs from January 1. With this being the case the Sunday rag that is The News of the World has put two and two together and come up with The Arsenal being a likely destination what with the quota of dodgy keepers on the books.

Iker Casillas is said to be disillusioned with Real not discussing new terms and improve on his £7,000 a week wage. Of course his agent Gines Garvajal has stepped into the arena and just quoted as saying "I've not sat down with anyone from Madrid to discuss a new deal for Iker. We are waiting for the call but if not, from 1 January we can talk with other clubs."

back on the air

Allgoonerdup is back after a week long hiatus, well more to the point, there were problems with the system and it was more iffy than the 'performance' at the Riverside. However after said problems a lot of emails to the site have been lost, so if you have emailed a picture for Goonerbabe in the last two weeks or entered the comp to win that lovely Wunderland Arsenal t-shirt (see below)- you want to be sending again, you know it makes sense... er cos you can't win the t-shirt or see your mug on the gorgeous Goonerbabe wall of fame.

Tonight's team news

The Arsenal will again be captained by Sol 'The Rock' Campbell in the must win game (yep, five games in and already The Arsenal have 'must win' games!?) against northern scallies, the hub cap nicking scouser's of Everton. The team pretty much picks itself, with the one nailed on change from the win against FC Thun being the return in goal of German mentalist Jens Lehmann.

Team from: Lehmann, Almunia, Lauren, Eboue, Cole, Clichy, Campbell, Toure, Senderos, Cygan, Gilberto, Fabregas, Flamini, Song, Pires, Ljungberg, Hleb, Reyes, Van Persie, Bergkamp.

Lord Persie gets one game Euro ban

After getting a one game ban for his Bruce Lee challenge on the ball whilst a FC Thun player clattered into his boot, Robin van 'Lord' Persie has received a one game ban. The youngster and Dennis Bergkamp in the making will miss the game against Ajax on the 27 Sept. So looks the Ajax fans will have to find someone else to cheer the whole match given Lord Persie's Feyenoord connections.

Saint Wenger to tie Henry up

Not as saucy as it sounds, Arsene Wenger simply is keen to tie up Arsenal captain and all round Mr Nice Guy Thierry Henry's new contract. With our jet propelled forward holding a sick note with up to six weeks off with a groin injury, Saint Wenger see's this as an ideal time to get the hot shot to sign up for longer.

The Arsenal coach said in this exclusively gleaned report "It is a good opportunity and we will certainly try to use it. I'm convinced he will stay. He's not a guy who's obsessed by money. It's more about him being committed to the club."

The wily Frenchman then added "I'm more concerned about his injury than his contract because it's a bit of concern that he had to stop so early in the season by having worked so hard during the pre-season"
