Hooray Henry
Arsenal captain and all round Mr Nice Guy Thierry Henry
came back with a bang in last night's 2-0 romp against
Sparta Prague in the Champions League. Not only did he
return with a two goal salvo but the jet heeled forward
also broke Arsenal leg-end's Ian Wright's goal scoring
record into the bargain, which is nice. Ian Wright Wright
Wright's record had stood for eight years.
The two goal blast from Thierry Henry puts him now on
186 goals, one more than Ian Wright's. After his history
making strike King Henry said "I am just over the
moon about the record. Wrighty was a great player. I wanted
to do it at Highbury but when you score you score."
Not so good for Reyes
The Champions League win over Czech side Sparta Prague
wasn't without incident as not surprisingly in this current
climate The Arsenal suffered another injury. The medics
at The Arsenal must have their medical books at the ready
and checking for all types of injury as the latest one
is a busted rib. The unlucky recipient of that accolade
goes to young gypsy José Antonio
Reyes, who had his ribs tickled in the first few minutes
of the game. The Czech team must of studied American conglomerate
Manchester USA's previous rough house tactics on the young
Spaniard, where various players namely The Neville's Grimm
took it in turns to get two falls or a submission out of
the youngster. Reyes was kicked, bundled and hacked down
by Sparta more times in the opening 15 minutes than Wayne
Rooney has had hot dinners.
Although Reyes going off injured in the 15th minute led
Thierry Henry to make history with his two goal salvo,
it means the Spaniard will be out for a least six weeks
joining Camp Freddie,Ashley "The
best left back in the world™" Cole,
Sol Campbell and Alexander Hleb in the Darren Anderton
wing of the injury clinic.
Ian Wright in Henry love-in
Former Arsenal record goal scorer and all round 'diamond
geezer' Ian Wright has heaped praise on Thierry Henry after
breaking his record of 185 goals not out for The Arsenal.
In this exclusively gleaned report the gold tooth sporting
leg-end said "It could not happen to a nicer fella.
He is for me a footballing person, it is all about the
football and the fans.
"It would be different if it was someone you didn't
like and was a horrible person, giving it all the time,
but he is not like that.
"He deserves it, he is a fantastic player. He has
won everything, apart from the Champions League, which
I am praying he can do."
