Henry to get a cheeky half (hour)
Arsenal talisman and enigmatic captain Thierry Henry is
making a confidence boosting return to The Arsenal
squad ahead of tonight's Champions League clash against
Sparta Prague. Saint Wenger revealed on Monday afternoon
that the jet heeled striker would be on the bench and may
get a 30 minute run out 'if the game allows'.
With none of the forwards in Titi's absence scoring
for The Arsenal in nigh on six months, the return of the
big man is timely. Especially as the non-flying Dutchman,
Dennis Bergkamp will be watching from home with his pipe
and slippers, Alexander Hleb and Camp Freddie both injured,
José Antonio Reyes finding it harder to score than Luke
Chadwick on a night out and Bobby Pires being really rubbish
this season so far. If King Henry does get a run out it
will be the first match he would of played since being
injured playing for France in their 1-0 defeat of the Republic
of Ireland, baah.
The likely team to face Sparta and scare the bejesus out
of them is from: Lehmann, Almunia, Lauren, Eboue, Clichy,
Senderos, Toure, Cygan, Gilberto, Fabregas, Flamini, Song,
Pires, Reyes, Van Persie, Henry, Owusu-Abeyie, Larsson.
Hooray for Henry
Nice guy Kolo Touré has spoken of the extra boost having
of Thierry Henry on the bench ahead of the Champions League
clash against Sparta Prague (see above). With the French
jet propelled player riddled with a touch of the 'Andertons'
this season, Touré said in this exclusively gleaned report "Thierry
is one of our best players and the fact that he is back
in the squad is good for our confidence. We will have to
see whether he will play or not in this game but it's a
big boost that he is fit again."
Saint Wenger in Paddy admission - sort of
Arsène Wenger has recited the infamous John Lydon
penned "May the road rise with you" song. Being quite
candid the wily Frenchman said it 'I could be wrong, I
could be right' in the selling of ex captain Patrick Vieira.
When asked about the loss of the Juventus playing midfield
general Saint Wenger observed: "I still feel
Cesc Fabregas and Mathieu Flamini are doing extremely well.
But as long as you don't win games, people say that you
make mistakes and you have to accept it. I don't feel it
was a big mistake. But we started the season without Sol
Campbell and Thierry Henry, as well as some others, so
we've had it a bit hard. But it's a good test, a good challenge
for us to show we can respond to that."
Despite not replacing not only in Vieira but also Edu
in the midfield, who ironically are both injured, Edu out
for some six months (there's a surprise) Wenger remains
upbeat and stubborn. The French tactician when asked if
he would dust of the old chequebook in the January
sales said "It
depends what is on the market. We don't need to buy for
numbers in our squad.
"But if a player of super quality comes up, then
yes. If not, then no."
Walking in an Arsenal Wunderland - last chance
It's
still up for grabs.. After losing a lot of information
when Allgoonerdup had problems with the server recently,
actually make that lost ALL the t-shirt contest info. The
competition to win this fine t-shirt was extended. We had
loads of good answers first time round but frankly the
next batch were rubbish, even Bobby Davro could do better!
So we're going to make it easier to win the Wunderland
t-shirt. The new question is why should you win it? Simple,
isn't it? the best one gets picked out the magic hat next
Friday 21 October.

More jeepers keepers,
having just signed a permanent 3 and half year contract
with Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic, Polish keeper Artur
Boruc hasn't wasted much time in angering his current
paymasters. Even before the ink had time to dry the big
Pole has said he wants to play in the Premiership in
'the future'.. 'Allegedly' The Arsenal are after Chris
Kirkland who West Brom of Albion have on a years loan
from northern hub cap thieving scouser's Liverpool. It
is thought Kirkland's Man of the match performance at
the weekend has alerted Saint Wenger's interest... that's
it for now... au reviour mon amis... Keep it locked.
