International's
week, one down one to go..
First the bad news news, with it being the middle of International's
week it's still a very slow news week. However the good
news is that England have qualified for the World Cup finals
courtesy of Holland, which is nice. But still there's
been no real stories doing the rounds. So here's a bite
sized version of events that even Kylie Minouge could
manage.
Sol is out again
After getting the nod ahead of Manchester USA's Rio 'Oh
I forgot to take the anti-doping test so I could go to
Harvey Nicks' Ferdinand, England number one centre back
Sol Campbell is injured, again. Not sure if The Rock doing
an 'Anderton' is still news nowadays as it's as regular
as Joe Cole going down before a challenge comes in. The
Rock will be sidelined for up to three weeks with a hamstring
injury the medics reckon. After England's 1-0 caning
of European minnows Austria, the big man said "It
is difficult, you are playing alright and then you get
a tweak of the hamstring."
The sicknote waving centre back will now leave Arsenal's
defence looking a little fragile asAshley "The
best left back in the world™" Coleis
also out for at least six weeks, great! Is there any good
news?
Old reserve
The reserve local derby against North London's third biggest
club, Tottenham, will see the likes of Dennis Bergkamp,
Robert Pires and probably Arsenal folk hero Pascal Cygan
line up, manager Saint Wenger has promised.
Apparently in some quarters of the press Pires has been
'ordered' to play in the second string outfit by Wenger.
The wily Frenchman is quoted "It's always good to
get 90 minutes under your belt in quite an intense game
without being under pressure. Also Bobby has been a bit
rubbish so far this season.'*
