5 star Arsenal hammer the vikings |
The Arsenal captained by Dennis Bergkamp cruised through
into the last 16 of the Champions League after spanking
the Group E whipping boys Rosenberg 5-1. In what was on
the surface going to be a nervy game was put beyond doubt
after half an hour. The Five goals from five different players
came as early as the 3rd minute when José 'Lord Lucan'
Reyes was rediscovered after going missing in the last god
knows how many games fired inside the area to slot The Arsenal
ahead with a trademark 'leave your defender for dead' Reyes
goal, the second a deft chip by King Henry, the third and
Arsenal's best goal was taken by the Spanish Wonderkid 'Cesc'
- which was a peach as he took the ball juggled it a little
and lashed the ball into the back of the net. Rosenberg
were then gifted a goal by Manuel from Fawlty Towers in
a trademark Arsenal goalkeeper style, Bobby Pires restored
the three goal cushion from the penalty spot with Lord Robin
van Dick van Dyke van Persie added the fifth with minutes
to go. A proper showing from The Arsenal but not too surprising
as The Arsenal should be putting teams of Rosenberg's calibre
to the sword all day long. All the boys were impressive
especially Justin Hoyte & the midfield pairing of Mathieu
Flamini and Cesc. But the icing on the cake is that The
Arsenal win the group after PVS crashed 4-1 to the bubbles
in Greece.. and we're a club in a crisis! |

Rosenberg match - my verdict - reaction |
Well admittedly before the game I was slightly worried
as I didn't know which Arsenal would step out onto the pitch.
But the 'real' Arsenal stepped up to the plate and ripped
through the vikings. The game had everything from The Arsenal
- goals, skills and commitment - we could even throw in
a goalkeeping error into the bargain, which gives Saint
Wenger another headache ahead of the clash against the chavs
of Chelski. But a very good workout for the boys against
a team that they were supposed to spank and spank them they
did... which is nice. |
