Clean sheet re-discovered
in North London |
The
Arsenal recorded their first win of the decade and kept
their first clean sheet this century and seemed to have
stemmed the tide of this current so called 'crisis'. The
3-0 thrashing of those defensive minded midland boys was
the prefect tonic for what is going to be a pivotal week
for The Arsenal. Goals from Pires and King Henry's double
sealed the points for the gunners. Even though The Arsenal
scored three goals and kept a clean sheet you would think
the way the game was reported by some media that we lost.
I must admit I don't mind the media writing off The Arsenal,
there's no pressure on us in that quarter then and if we
do win something - well we can shove it down their throats.
Saint Wenger dropped Jens 'the nutter' Lehmann to the bench
and brought in Manuel Almunia in the only change to The
Arsenal in a game we had to win after the Chelski's early
kick off against The Toon ended 4-0 to the London Russians.
The game was a bit closer than the 3-0 scoreline suggests
however with Emile 'carpet' Heskey in the Brum forward line
the defence must of known it would a quietish afternoon.
There was only one heart attack moment from The Arsenal
which was provided by Almunia - who after initially saving
the ball dropped it on his line and then gathered it up
- but the biggest cheer of the day besides King Henry's
second and The Arsenal's third goal, a 'rare' headed goal
at that was when Pires attempted a chipped pass but managed
to smash the ball fully into Robbie 'Lilly' Savage's boat
- good work fella.

King Henry to lead the troops |
With Patrick 'Le Boss' Vieira out of the next two crucial
games, King Henry will be made captain and will need to
put to bed that he is not a 'big game player'. King Henry
will need to be at his best and give both the Norwegians
and Chelski the runaround. We're not quite sure why King
Henry has been singled out by the media for not performing
recently - he is the Premiership's top scorer with 13 goals,
four more than his next 'rival' who happens to be Bobby
Pires with nine. |

Saint Wegner to tie Edu down? |
With the January transfer sales only weeks away Edu
can talk to any club and with the likes of Barca and Real
Madrid being mentioned that could be too tempting for some.
Saint Wenger has stated that if Edu doesn't sign an extention
before January he will look to sign another experienced
player for the midfield, and as reported here previously
that could mean Manu Petit donning The Arsenal shirt for
a second spell. Wenger has also stated should Edu not decide
his future before January who could find himself frozen
out. |

And it's the potters in the cup |
The Arsenal have been drawn against Stoke in the 3rd
round of the FA Cup. The draw gives The Arsenal a home tie
which could see some of our kids who play for the 'Little
Arsenal' |

Brum match - my verdict - reaction |
Well three goals, three points and a clean sheet - who
would of thought it.. a clean sheet that is - the first
one in 12 games. We played well enough limiting the northern
monkey's to only a handful of chances - The Brum came to
defend - so the longer the game went on the longer the frustration
went on but Bobby Pires' goal in the 33rd minute made everyone
relax a bit more as it meant The Brum would have to come
out and play - which we didn't allow them to do. Freddie
Ljungberg took the game to The Brum and was a livewire from
the first to the last minute - let's hope over the bext
180 minutes we have eleven players in red and white who
want it as much. |
