Sign him up!
DB10 rolled back the years as
he produced a virtuoso performance in the 7-0 'show
them who's the daddy' hammering of northern scallies
and hub cap nicking Everton. The (main) Man of the
Match showed just why we need to keep him for another
12 months as he was instrumental in the opening
three goals.
Lord van Persie, Bobby Pires and Le Boss Vieira
all benefited from the vision of the great Dutchman
with The Arsenal going in three goals to the good
at half time. Most Gooners would of thought The
Arsenal would take their foot of the gas, but how
wrong we were. The Arsenal started from where they
left off and produced a goal as regular as clock
work. The finely tuned Ferrari that is Arsenal had
the right surface to produce the goods, everything
clicked and how.
For the second half Everton must of thought it wasn't
going to be their day as off came Lord van Persie
to be replaced by none other than Thierry Henry.
Big Tel looked fit and fully recovered from his
recent injury and tormented (ok took the p!ss) out
of the Everton defence, with constant acts of showboating
and trickery. As the clock ticked down for the last
game of the season at Highbury the goals came flooding
in, Pires, then a Edu Penalty courtesy of the trickery
of King Henry. Then came the goal everybody wanted
DB10's - which was a combination of determination
and sublime bit of skill. Then to wrap up the party
even Mathieu Flamini got in on the act by scoring
his first Arsenal goal - good work Gooner.
Oh we should mention Sol came back for the rested
Kolo Touré looked good and picked up a yellow
card into the bargain, good work Gooner.
Everybody came away from Highbury drunk on the atmosphere
(and the rest) of a very special night. Well all
except David 'Eyebrows' Moyes who we're sure secretly
was waxing lyrical about how outstand ing The Arsenal
performance was even though he said he was "embarrassed"
about the mauling.
Question is, has DB10 earned himself another 12
months, we'll find out soon.
Just for the record the 7-0 spanking of the northern
scallies was the biggest Arsenal win under Saint
Wenger and the biggest in the clubs Premiership
history oh and lastly the biggest Premiership win
this season - which is nice! |
|
Will he, wont he? |
Saint Wenger after the 7-0 hammering
of fourth placed (yep, fourth placed) Uefa Champions
League qualifiers Everton said that he has made
his mind up over the future of DB10's contract.
Saint Wenger after the match said: "Yes - I've
made my decision. I'm under big pressure tonight
but he's done extremely well. We'll sit down before
the end of the season - but I feel it will come
out at the end of the season.
"You have to be special to play at 36 at this
level and he's super special."
"He had a hand in the first three goals and
created a few other chances - you don't meet a Dennis
Bergkamp on a corner of every street."
The wily manager however wouldn't let the cat out
of the bag and all will be revealed at the end of
the season. |
|
However DB10 wants to stay and so do the fans |
The fans more than want him to stay as his name
was sung around Highbury and chanting 'one more
year' and DB10 after the record 7-0 thrashing of
Everton admitted: "It was quite special. It
was difficult not to get emotional as it was quite
something for them to all be cheering my name and
shouting 'one more year'.
The Dutch master added "They obviously feel
there is another year left in me, so that's great
as it shows they're really behind me. I've made
up my mind already but this only made it clearer
to me and has taken any doubts away."
You're not wrong DB10, we're not going to have a
knee jerk reaction to last night's solo performance
by the great man. He might not be a 15 goal a season
player, however with the things he brings to games
Saint Wenger HAS to keep him for another 12 months.
Hopefully if DB10 gets a showing for the last game
of the season at midland giants Birmingham he will
underline that fact, which would be nice. |

Ciao Edu - He's off |
He came, he scored, he cried. Edu we thank you
for the five years worth of service for The Arsenal
cause. Good luck with whoever. We must admit Edu
looked very emotional even before he took the penalty
against Everton in the 7-0 spanking. and walking
round for the 'lap of honour' the amount of tears
the Brazilian was producing he could of swam round.
It's nice to see emotion like that, remember The
Arsenal fans loved you. |
|
Bon jour Tel - He's staying |
Freshly back from his five game absence and
looking up for it, Thierry has said he will be going
nowhere during the summer sales, that's it. He mentions
the likes of Barca, Real and Milan in an interview
but basically is teasing them by saying as a kid
he dreamt about them but he wont be going to any
of those places. As we know Barca have made him
their top priority in the summer sales and you can
rest assured they will make a failed attempt to
land the young hot shot. |

round-up in 60 seconds or less.. |
Bayern Munchkin chairman Karl-Heinz
Rummenigge insists Willy Sagnol is going nowhere
after the French defender said he was shaping up
for a move to the Premiership... Saint Wenger has
denied ex-Lyon Manager Paul Le Guen will be coming
to join him and eventually take over at Highbury...
can't believe we got away without using the line
'seventh heaven', 7-up' and all those other awful
puns on the 7-0 drubbing of Everton - which is nice...
Arsenal have been linked with a £5million
move for striker Markus Rosenberg. The boy who isn't
angling for a move (much) had this to say "I
want to go to a club where I know I can develop
as a player." who is described as a deep-lying
striker in the Dennis Bergkamp mould... that's it
Keep it locked, more news at 11. |
