Arsenal Player ratings versus Aston Villa

Almunia - The blond one did quite well he just went about his business, he saved the shots he had to save, including one super one that was pushed against the post, I still thought he was a bit slow in coming out at times. 7.5 MOTM

Sagna - Defensively good, crossing has been better but still defended pretty well, at present probably our best defender. 7

Gallas - Not one of his best he was pretty awful, tactically he was all over the place and slow too however, he did make one or two some good saving tackles but not a great game. 6.5

Senderos - Cracking goal by big Phil only problem was it was in his own net, plonker. He seemed to get bullied a lot today he needs to get a bit of aggression in his game. 6

Clichy - He has had better games, he kept running as usual however, he was not his usual attacking threat today. The youngster could do with a rest and get freshen up. However given the depth or lack of experience, who do we call on? 6.5

Hleb - Unusual for him he gave the ball away in some dangerous places but also created a few chances he had some good attacking moments but wasteful in possession. 6.5

Cesc - Slow and uninspiring why the hell does he still keep hoofing it to Ade every chance he gets? His game has still not picked up, he missed a sitter which he'd have buried earlier in the season he seems uninterested sometimes?? We're still waiting for Fabregas to have a 'big game'. Is it possible that the midfield dynamo has hit the wall after his first half of the season adventures? 6

Flamini - Did his job he fought hard and was aggressive. I wished he scored with that thunderbolt of a shot he took, he must cover some miles on that pitch. 7

Diaby - Not a good performance but he's just come back from injury so I hope it was match fitness this lackluster performance. 5

Walcott - Our most dangerous player. He looked a real threat up front however, could've done so much more but didn't. He threatened a couple of times but put in some bad crosses and needs more accuracy with his shots. 7.5

Adebayor - Has been terrible / poor for a few weeks now it's seems he has gone of the boil, shouldn't have had his hair cut. Not sure if the big man was believing the hype of being Europe's deadliest marksman. He needs goals if he is to considered that. One plus point though was he got his nugget on the ball to flick on to his mate Nicklas Bendtner to score the equaliser. 5 .5

Subs

Gilberto - looked a little more at ease than Senderos on the pitch although he didn't have to do much. 6

Bendtner - Not great but rescued a point, still a little raw but coming along nicely. Scored the vital equaliser, which kept our home record in tack for this season and rescued a point which could prove a very, very vital come the end of the season. 7

Denilson - Not a lot of involvement, didn't really do a lot, I can't understand why he came on. 5

Allgoonerdup: Tool of the week image
Allgoonerdup: Tool of the Week section dedicated to a player/manager/ref for being - well basically - a tool
Mark Lawrenson
The ex-Liverpool and now BBC Sports 'pundit' shows all the reasons and credentials why he failed so miserably as a manager. The 'tache sporting 1970's throwback reckons Arsène Wenger should can William Gallas as The Arsenal captain after Big Willy's tantrum last week. Coupled with having sly digs at The Arsenal at every given opportunity and just wishing The Gunners to fail the side kick to John Motson is really starting to get on my goat alongside most of the other pundits on the BBC.
S0, Mark Lawrenson, you've been murked and you're this weeks tools of the week.
