I needn’t tell you that things in the league have faltered a bit. In fairness, whereas previous seasons have seen us play really, really well and not put away our chances we were poor against Wigan, poorish against Villa and only turned up in the second half at Birmingham. Although it’s slightly unfair to list the fixtures like that, because it ignores Milan, it’s the truth. The last time we played really well in the league was Blackburn, and Saturday has to see a return to that form. Boro beat us earlier, and now we gotta absolutely spank them, hopefully with RVP on the score sheet.
I can’t really put my finger on what went wrong. Eduardo’s injury was a disaster in the context of the Brum game, and a terrible accident, but it shouldn’t have cost us 6 points. Fabregas was quite up to the Milan game, whilst Adebayor didn’t score in 3 (a shock after the near never ending run he had been on). The defence can’t really be faulted; I think Senderos has been superb, although perhaps Clichy has fallen from his recent excellence. Again though, he did save us a point against Villa, so it’;s a right royal conundrum.
The champions league draw today was “interesting”. Liverpool is a better draw than United or even Chelsea. Obviously it isn’t as good as Fenerbahce or Shalke, but I’d take us to win. Frustratingly the other 3 big sides all avoided each other, though United must have the fact that Roma owe them a beating in the back of their mind. I suppose Chelsea are capable of self destruction under Grant, but you wouldn’t expect. Having been a bit down on the quarter final draw I was glad we got the semi final draw that we did. I think United and Barca are the two sides that we’d want in the final.
I’m also not too worried about playing Liverpool 3 times in a week. If anything you could say that we tend to dominate teams without getting results. Over 270 minutes of football this should favour us. Also, two are at home. Hopefully we beat them twice at our place, and go up there with them knowing that we’re a better side than they are. Liverpool probably would have preferred to have us at Anfield first anyway. Then they could have fought tooth and nail for a 0-0 draw or a narrow win, and relied on Torres or that one trick pony Gerrard to grab a goal at ours. All over the pitch we’re better than them, so I’m confident.

So, The Arsenal face the hubcap nicking, shell suit wearing, giro getting Liverpool Scallies USA in the Champions League. As it goes I think that it's a good draw for us, I just didn't want Barcelona or Manchester USA just yet! Although Liverpool must be one of the spawniest lucky bstad teams out there and even fluked a Champions League win against AC Milan in the final in 2005.
Full draw.

OK, competition time again folks and your chance to win a fantastic Manu Adebayor (without the Olympic dive) inspired t-shirt. All you need to do to win this fine bit of clobber is tell us this. When did Le Gaffer splash the cash to get the big Togo forward to these shores? Easy isn't it?
