I'm not usually one to kick a man while he's down... but there are always exceptions. So with that in mind I'd like to point and laugh at Fat Sam Allardyce.. you and your rugby (well it's clearly not football) will not be missed. I don't care if you go and manage the Popes XI, you are still a fat walrus. I hope your next job is managing Baghdad FC.
And talking of people I hate... although it was by no means beautiful football by our lads this morning, but whichever way you slice it, I love nothing more than watching Sp*rs get their hopes up at finally beating us (albeit the under 9's) only to have it snatched away. It's like teasing a retarded dog, and lets face it, what's not funny about that? (complains, lawsuits to the usual address). It would have been nicer if we'd sneaked a late winner and Jermaine Jenas had got his stupid face embedded in the post trying to stop the ball going in. But sometimes you just have to accept that your reserves team can't always be expected to be Sp*rs first team.
The game itself, along with the FA cup tie at the weekend has at least shown up a few things that hopefully Arsene will have noticed as well. The first is that young Armand Traore is still just that - young. He obviously has raw talent but it is still very raw. With that in mind it is crucial that we get Flamini's contract renewed, as he is one of the few players in the squad who can fill in at that spot and wouldn't be out of his depth. Should Clichy get injured or suspended, I would hope Arsene had a better plan that Traore stepping up.
Also of note is 'Fans Choice' Manu Eboue's consistency at right wing. And by consistency I mean in a brown, smelly, sh*te kinda way. Though it may be that Hleb and Rosicky haven't threatened the golden boot award anymore than Eboue, what they lack in goals they make up in so many other areas - their passing, hold up play and creativity. Eboue's only tactic it seems, is to distract us from his poor finishing and passing with his terrible on field behaviour. Without being too harsh, I for one wouldn't be devastated if, while at the African Cup Of Nations, he went on a day tour to the nearby jungle and got eaten by lions... or a wild boar.... even termites would do.
Finally, what is going on with Denilson lately? A player I thought would be pushing Fabregas hard this season for a spot as our creative midfielder has clearly gone backwards. Whether it's the pressure of Diaby and Diarra affecting him or just a lack of playing time against quality opposition, he is sorely out of form. His passing in the Sp*rs game was often wasteful and he seemed unable to protect the ball. Hopefully it is a blip because I for one like the lad. That said at least he doesn't have an ego - i'm looking at you Lasagne Diarra.
Anyway, it's cup games over now for a week, bring on the League... it's been too long between games there. This is the crunch time for the league now, a few good results could see us hopefully establish a gap at the top. C'mon you Goooooooooners!!!!

Latest news today
'Ze German mentalist' Jens Lehmann: Latest twist is that Borussia Dortmund say a deal is in place with player and club, however Le Gaffer Arsène Wenger OBE has said that that's a downright lie, not even close to the truth and no deal has been signed, sealed or delivered. I think with this, it's more a question of when 'ze German mentalist' than if does one.
Lassana DIarra: Dropped from the U12'a Carling Cup team, so the cat is definitely amongst the pigeons on this one. The media would have you believe that Diarra was closing in on a move to northern monkeys Newcastle United, however what with those mid table boys sacking Big Fat Sam Allardyce that deal seems to be about as alive as Elvis.
No one as yet, but given our injuries and personnel a couple of centre backs wouldn't go amiss.

Posted: 10 Jan 2008 12:14 pm Post subject: Topic of the day - Philippe Senderos
He arrived at The Arsenal hailed as the new Tony Adams even 'earning' the nickname Swiss Tony, however given his performances from last season and this season he's been dubbed Philippe Stepanovs and Pascal Senderos (ouch!). Given his recent performances he just doesn't seem to be the full ticket, so question is in King Kolo's absence should Wenger bite the bullet and get in another centre back.
